Wedding Photographer in Alicante, Spain Specialising in Destination Weddings

Something happens on a wedding day that you can't fully plan for. It's not the aisle walk or the ring exchange — it's the way your dad's hand shakes slightly as he takes yours, or how quiet the room goes just before your partner sees you for the first time.

I've been a professional photographer since 2015 — originally from England, based in Alicante since 2020 — and I've photographed weddings up and down this coast, as well as been a guest at plenty more. That's taught me something a lot of photographers miss: the best ones don't just document the day, they're actually in it. Reading the room. Feeling when to step back and when to lean in. Caring, properly, about what this day means to you.

That's what I try to bring to every wedding — not just a camera, but my full attention, and honestly, a bit of my heart too.

There’s a reason so many couples choose Spain for their wedding.

Not just for the sunshine, but for the feeling it creates, slower mornings, long evenings, and the kind of light that makes everything feel softer, more present.

Alicante, and the wider Costa Blanca, offers something uniquely balanced. You have the sea, the mountains, historic towns, and modern venues, all within a short distance. It means your wedding doesn’t have to fit one mould. It can be relaxed, expansive, or somewhere in between.

The light here is a big part of it. It’s warm, consistent, and lingers into the evening, giving space for moments to unfold naturally, rather than feeling rushed. From coastal ceremonies to countryside celebrations, the setting does a lot of the work for you.

For many couples travelling from the UK, Europe or further afield, Alicante is also easy to reach. With a well-connected airport and a wide range of venues and accommodation, it allows you to bring people together without it feeling complicated.

But more than anything, it’s about how it feels to be here.
A wedding in Spain tends to slow things down, to create space, to let the day breathe. And that’s often where the most meaningful moments happen.

WEDDING DAY

I get there early — before the nerves really settle in — so we've already said hello before I start photographing. You won't be meeting your photographer for the first time while you're getting your dress done up.

All day, I'm moving with the day, not standing back waiting for a "moment." The quiet kiss over dinner, the look between you before you walk down — those matter just as much as the big ones, and they're easy to miss if you're not paying proper attention.

We'll take fifteen minutes just for the two of you, for portraits — that's the one part I'll gently guide. The rest of the day, I want you to forget I'm even there.

If your family needs pulling together for a group shot, of course — I'll take the lead on that so it's quick and easy, then hand the day straight back to you.

From stolen glances to cheeky kisses and getting loose on the dance floor, I'll be there to document your love story (and all the fun parts). I'll even make sure to snap authentic moments that may have slipped by unnoticed - they're the best ones!

Whether you want me to inconspicuously lurk in the shadows, snapping candid shots or be right up the front, rounding everyone up for group photos, I'll be the chameleon you need on the day. Either way, I'll be behind the lenses, not missing a beat.

EDITING

All about the details

Photo

Not many people know what actually happens to their photos after the day ends, so here's the honest version.

I get home and back everything up before I let myself relax. Then I go through the whole day, every single frame, and start narrowing it down. A wedding gives me a few thousand images, and most of the work is deciding, carefully, which few hundred really earn their place in your gallery.

I edit for light and colour, not reinvention — if the ceremony was moody and dim, it stays that way. I want the photos to feel true to the day you actually had, not a version of somebody else's.

It usually takes a few weeks. I'd always rather take the time than rush the part that decides how you remember this.

Slideshow

I also put together a short highlights film from the day — set to music, in order, so it feels like watching the day unfold again.

It's usually the first thing couples watch, before they've even opened the full gallery, and a lovely thing to send on to family who couldn't be there.

Your Journey's just begun

A few things couples often add on: an engagement shoot beforehand, so the wedding day isn't the first time you're in front of my camera; a rush on your gallery if you need it quickly; travel beyond Alicante; a second photographer for bigger days, or just an hour or two if that's all you need. Just get in touch, and we'll figure out what makes sense.
